What is a health guarantee?

There are those who will say that you cannot guarantee the health of an animal.  That you cannot possibly guarantee that any given animal will never have any ailments.  Of course, that is absolutely true.  That is not what this health guarantee is about.  The attempt here is not to say that your puppy will never become ill.  The attempt is made here, rather, to say what we will do to help mentally, emotionally, and financially in the unlikely event that your puppy does happen to become ill with a genetic disorder.  With that being said, here then is our guarantee.

All puppies sold by Caramel Cavaliers are guaranteed to be free of genetic defects up until the animal is one (1) year of age.
If your puppy is found to have a genetic defect, the puppy shall be returned to Caramel Cavaliers (at buyer's expense) with registration papers, health records and a written explanation from a licensed veterinarian stating what the defect is, and a veterinarian local to me concurs with the diagnosis, your puppy will be replaced at no charge to you. If you elect to keep the puppy and treat, then arrangements can be made with Caramel Cavaliers to assist with the cost of the treatment required. Caramel Cavaliers will not pay more than the original cost of the puppy, or 50% of medical treatments, whichever is less. Any vet bills incurred to diagnose or treat a problem will be the responsibility of the buyer unless prior arrangements have been made with, or approved by, Caramel Cavaliers.

All puppies bred and sold by Caramel Cavaliers will be accompanied by an accurate and up to date medical record. Puppies will be checked by a veterinarian prior to delivery or shipping and are guaranteed to be sound and in good health at that time. Puppies whose age at the date of sale precludes completion of the scheduled series of vaccinations must have the remainder of vaccination completed by the purchaser, ON TIME, in order for this health guarantee to remain valid. A timetable for the necessary vaccinations will accompany the puppy. The puppy should not be exposed to premises known to be, or suspected of being, contaminated, nor should the puppy be exposed to any unhealthy animals until this series of vaccinations has been completed. This series of vaccinations takes approximately 16 weeks to complete.

You will receive a written copy of this guarantee when you take possession of your puppy.
